Before one starts looking at available acne cures, it might be a good idea to try and understand what causes acne in the first place. Contrary to popular belief, acne is not caused by bad facial hygiene. Nearly everyone believes this though and any acne cures, that stem from this belief are unlikely to work. What does cause acne however is hormonal changes in the body that result in the production of excessive oil from the sebaceous glands.

If you’re in middle school or high school, you probably have troubles with acne. Sure, there are always those few students somehow blessed with beautiful skin that is completely blemish-free all through their teens, but if they manage to graduate high school without ever having a zit the rules of averages would suggest that something will go terribly wrong later in their lives. At least the rest of us can always hope.

While acne affects most of us at one point or another in our hectic lives, whether it's brought on by hormones or stress, we don't have to just take it. Acne can be a horrible shot to anyone's self-esteem, and should be dealt with before getting too severe. In the wonderful world of technology we all share, there's no reason why you shouldn't take advantage of its innovations.
